Contact the company that makes the organic fertilizer you used. Many companies that make products that are applied with spreaders test out popular ones.

Sometimes it is even on the bag. I recently contacted Encap about their Fast Acting Lime product and they were able to give me a number for the Accugreen 3000. From what I've seen the 1000, 2000 and 3000 spreaders all use the same settings as Scott's products just list settings for Scott Drop Spreaders.

I've been going back and forth between getting the 1000 and the 2000. The 1000 is only 10 bucks cheaper but the 2000 seems to require less maintenance. It comes assembled and calibrated and doesn't require lubrication like the 2000.

Yeah that would be cool. I could also really go for the post by email feature too since that sounds so easy, and with the iPhone's camera and email capabilities it would be an easy way to post pictures.

I'm glad the post via iPhone worked, sometimes I just have ideas I need to post before I forget them and this will allow more of that.

I really know what you mean about losing a forum --- I took the loss of Threadwatch not so happily.

FUDwatch is pleasant, although they seem to be talking about pancakes just now ... and I'm never sure with U.K. folk whether it's really all about something else and I've misinterpreted. But it does seem to be about pancakes. :)

Anyway, I'll keep in touch.

P.S. You might like to add the Subscribe to Comments by email plugin ... it lets people know when someone else has commented on a post they've commented on. I think the newer one also lets them subscribe whether they've commented or not.

I'm also looking for a way to enable email newsletter-like subscriptions that does not involve Feedburner or installing newsletter software (so that I'd have to compile the newsletter).

Hi DianeV,

Thanks for tracking me down. And double thanks for registering at FUDwatch. I hope you like it.

I know forums come, go and change but this was a tough loss. Still it looks like it came out okay in the end with FUDwatch being born.

Well, I found you again, Brad! (And found the new FUDwatch forums via Michael Martinez' blog -- looks interesting and I've registered.)

Sorry to hear about SearchGuild. I know how it feels, more or less.

Make sure and get an HSA account. When I purchased my own insurance in the past, I got an HSA account, which allowed me to pay for things such as prescriptions, over the counter meds, etc pre-tax. You pay for it post tax and turn in your receipts. You get a 1099 at the end of the year, which allows you to take that off your taxes.
